About Me Welcome back to school. I hope your summer vacation was fun and restful. My name is Chelsea Chaney and I am your child’s 2nd grade teacher. I am happy I will have your child in my class. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.
This is my ninth year at Plato Academy. I am a graduate of The University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, as well as my Teacher Certificate for grades K-6 and Reading and English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement. I have had the privilege to enjoy several opportunities working with children in the area of teaching. Through employment and internships, I have also been able to teach in Pre-K, 1st, and 5th grade at elementary schools in Pinellas County. I come to the classroom with a passion and desire to educate the young minds of today! Working with you is very important to me. Together we can ensure the success of your child. You can help by each night checking your child’s O.W.L binder which contains homework, returned papers, and your child’s behavior agenda. Each night you will need to sign your child’s O.W.L. binder where you will find his/her daily behavior (color) and comments about his/her day. Please read the attached pages where you will find information about classroom procedures and expectations. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. I am looking forward to working with you and your child so they can be the very best readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and citizens! Please read through the following information and complete the attached pages to further help me get to know your child. Sincerely, Chelsea Chaney [email protected] |
