Reading- We will review the different texts in this unit and how readers determine a text's main topic. Students will take their end of unit test next week.
Writing- We will practice writing an informational text.
Math- Math study guides went home on Wednesday for Topic 2. The test will be on Monday. Students will focus on two-digit numbers and how they can be broken apart using tens and ones and how to add numbers in different ways. You can represent how you break apart and add numbers with hops or jumps on an open number line.
Social Studies- By the end of this weekly unit, students will know more about the United Nations and its purpose, as well as the UNICEF organization and how they help children around the world.
Science- Students study guide for changing patterns went home on Friday. We will have our test on Tuesday.
Health- We will continue to discuss the importance of nutrition and physical activity.

Reading- This week we worked on routines, rules and using our computer resources. Next week we will start the text Trouble at the Sandbox. We will discuss how readers understand a character’s point of view.
Writing- We will practice writing narratives and discuss how writers create clear sequences of events in a story.
Math- Students will review addition fact strategies.
Social Studies- We will discuss different character traits and start our Social Studies Weekly articles.
Science- Students will focus on what a rock is and how they differ in appearance.
Health- Review how to keep germs from spreading.
